FEDERAL FUNDS AVAILABLE

Agency: Nat'l Endowment for the Arts

Summary:

NEH has launched a Challenge Grants Special Initiative
for Local History. The goal is to strengthen small
institutions by improving their humanities resources
in local history. Any U.S. nonprofit organization that
has not previously held an NEH Challenge Grant is
eligible to apply. Preference will be given to smaller
institutions--those with annual budgets of less than
$100,000. Awards--ranging from $10,000 to
$100,000--will require recipients to raise, from
nonfederal sources, an amount equal to the federal
funds offered. For more information, contact the
Office of Challenge Grants at (202) 606-8309.
