May we suggest you first determine what is deteriorating your edged pieces.
You hava at least three and maybe more problems. If the pieces are really a
cultural asset then y ou need to insure that they do not continue to
degrade. This means arrest the degredation. Secondly you should insure the
enviornment will not foster the continued degradation and thirdly you need
to make the display visable to your visitors. Most edged pieces are
relatively forgiving (I think we own almost a hundred). YOu might
addressthen the problem as a three pronged attack. !. Stabalize your
collection. 2. Provide either coatings or an acceptable enviornment. 3. You
might think of a polycarbonate (lexan or hyzod) to keep the visitor from
adding them to their personal collections.
