I have a question for those of you who exhibit collections in historic
houses or buildings. In the last few months, we've been reviewing our
collections care policies and procedures, and the question of lighting has
come up. Do any of you have any formal policies or procedures regarding
lighting in historic houses or buildings that you might be willing to share?
I'm specifically wondering about proximity of lights to walls or collection
objects, the addition of auxiliary lighting for temporary displays and
exhibits, maximum bulb wattage (especially taking into account that wiring
in certain buildings may be older), and of course, minimizing light damage.

I'd greatly appreciate anything you could share with me! Thanks.
