Good Morning!

My name is Angie Hornberger and I am the Hot Shop Supervisor for the HCA
Glass Studio, a non-profit glassblowing studio in Newark, Ohio. I am
currently in the process of trying to find alternative glass suppliers for
our facility. In the past we have always melted Pilgrim cullet (PC) in our
electric glass furnace, however we can no longer purchase this particular
cullet from our distributor, Gabbert Cullet. Since my attempts at
researching cullet companies online has been less than fruitful, I was
hoping that perhaps someone might be able to recommend other possible
cullets. I am very new to the glass art world so my knowledge of these
types of products is very limited. However, I have heard from other
individuals that 8c is a cullet that is very similar if not the same as
Pilgrim cullet whereas 4c and 6c have shorter working times and are not as
consistent in quality. I have also considered switching to a pellitized
batch but this I understand can both messy and time consuming not to
mention more costly, hazardous and corrosive. I'm not sure what other glass
studios are using in their furnaces, but I certainly would welcome any
possible suggestions or advice anyone has to offer. Thank you for all of
your efforts!

Kind regards,

Angie Hornberger
