I've done a bit of recent research on interpretive planning. The one book in
print that I found is Interpretive Master Planning by John A Veverka. Useful

In searching the web for references to Interpretive Plans, I most commonly
found references related to National and State Park sites, natural history
museums, aquaria and similar institutions.

The Exemplary Interpretation: Characteristics and Best Parctices Seminar
Handbook (available from AAM - contact the Professional Education Department
at 202-289-6578)is a huge binder included a great variety of resource
material related to interpretation, including the Chicago Horicultural
Society's Interpretive Master Plan.
