 There just so happens to be an excellent and very thorough article on the
question of appraisals, appraisers, and donations in the September/October
2001 issue of AAM's Museum News, entitled "Object of Appraisal: Legal &
Ethical Issues".  I think it answers many of the questions that have been
posed in the last few days.
