ANNOUNCING TWO POSTIONS:
OBJECTS CONSERVATOR AND PAPER CONSERVATOR

Due to our upcoming expansion, Northern States Conservation Center seeks
qualified applicants to fill two new positions for Objects Conservator and
Paper Conservator. Responsibilities include a full range of art and
artifact conservation work: cleaning, analysis, stabilization, conservation
and restoration. Projects may include constructing specialized mounts and
supports. The paper conservator will ideally have additional experience
with photographs, books and/or blueprints.

Candidates will have a graduate degree in conservation, a good working
knowledge of materials science, preservation theory and ethics, excellent
writing and computer skills and experience and/or interest in teaching
preventive conservation topics to non-specialists. Experience with CAP
Assessments is a definite plus. Successful candidates will have a
demonstrated ability to independently plan and manage projects and to
complete all needed documentation. The conservators also will identify and
achieve new initiatives and play a role in developing our overall program.

Our lab is located in the heart of the Twin Cities, between downtown
Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. NSCC was founded in 1997 to give

Interested candidates can mail, fax or e-mail a cover letter including your
salary requirements, CV, three professional references and up to five work
