Museum Registrar, Roswell Museum and Art Center, Roswell, New Mexico
Salary: $22,295 to $28,433 per year with limited relocation funds.
Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
with a bachelor's degree in American History, Anthropology, Art History, or
related field.
Experience: Two years increasingly responsible experience in museum
registration work.
Position Description: Specialized museum work in managing and maintaining
the permanent and loan collections of the Roswell Museum and Art Center, an
accredited regional museum focusing on art and history of the Southwest.
Involves management of manual and computerized records; maintenance of
collections insurance; registration; cataloging, and inventory control of
all collection objects; packing, crating, and shipping; management of
incoming and outgoing loans; evaluation of collection conservation needs and
implementation of long-range collections care plan; maintain storage
facilities; and serve on curatorial and exhibition project teams. Knowledge
of computers and databases is required - Filemaker Pro preferred.
Collections management experience desired.
