SECRETARY GALVIN PRESENTS GENEALOGY SERIES AT THE
MASSACHUSETTS ARCHIVES
Secretary of the Commonwealth William Francis Galvin announced today
that the second annual Sunset Lecture Series on genealogy will be held at
the Massachusetts State Archives building at Columbia Point on Thursday
evenings July 12 through August 16 between 6:30 and 8pm.
The public lectures will be held in the Meeting Room and light
refreshments will be served. Admission and parking are free and the
Archives Building is handicapped accessible.
The lecture schedule, topics and guest speakers are:
July 12 – Case Studies in Native American Genealogy and History,
Mark Choquet, Professional Genealogist
July 19 – “Jumping the Pond: A Look at Italian Genealogical Research”,
Marcia Melnyk, Professional Genealogist, Author
July 26 – “Basic Sources for Scandinavian Genealogy”
Helen Schatvet Ullmann, Professional Genealogist, Author, Editor, Librarian
August 2 – “French-Canadian Genealogical Research: Viva la
Difference!”
Patti Couture, Professional Genealogist, Author, Lecturer
August 9 –“Family Research In Poland and Eastern Europe”
Jonathan D. Shea A.G., Professor, Author, Lecturer
August 16 – “Introduction to Jewish Genealogy”
Warren Blatt, Webmaster, Professional Genealogist, Author and Lecturer
The Reading Room will be open on Thursday evenings until 8:00pm from July 12
through August 30.
