I'm a bit puzzled myself.  Why not just ask the artist what he means?

I imagine he's talking about an inventory or a catalog, perhaps for insurance
purposes?  If he has enough stuff, perhaps a simple database would be in
order, with a record of prices paid and current estimates of value...
