Thanks to all who provided me with info on historical ship societies.

Another request - this time it's a personal research project.

I'm looking for information on the role of women during the war of 1812,
esp. with the Navy. I've got the names of two nurses who served on the USS
United States and several other names from quartermaster's reports of women
who were paid for various services.

I've contacted the Women in Military Service of America foundation and said
I'd pass along any information on to the curator as she doesn't have much
either. The Minerva center doesn't have much either.
