Dear Friends of Eyedrum,

As you've probably heard, Eyedrum is now struggling with the arduous and
costly task of building out our new space, applying for non-profit
status, and programming a new season of art and music. Architects,
accountants, artists, interns, musicians, students, and our Board of
Directors are donating time, talent, labor, and money to help us arrive
at our dream of a new space for a new level of Eyedrum accomplishment.

Now your help is absolutely necessary to keep Eyedrum successful. For
all of our achievements and accolades we have never received any local,
state or federal funding. We have existed on the financial contributions
and volunteer labor of our Board of Directors, and on your generosity
when you attend events, donate your artwork, or share your expertise.
But with the expenses of our move we need more help than ever to get us
over the hump. You can lend us a needed hand in this time of great
change by becoming an Eyedrum Member at the level of support that's best
for you:

Friend, $35: For your $35 contribution you receive free admission to all
Eyedrum events and an invitation to our big Members' Party.

Pal, $50: For your $50 contribution you receive free admission to all
Eyedrum events, our 1999 and 2000 Eyedrum Compilation CDs, and an
invitation to our fabulous Members' Party.

Buddy, $100: For your $100 contribution you receive free admission to
all Eyedrum events, our 1999 and 2000 Eyedrum Compilation CDs, a
subscription to the Eyedrum Improvisation CD series, and an invitation
to our amazing Members' Party.

Comrade, $500: All of the above plus whatever else we can think of to
thank you with!

Did we mention a big, fabulous, amazing party? As a thank-you to our
supporters, a call for new Eyedrummers, and an introduction to our new
digs, Eyedrum’s first Happening in its new space will be a Members’
Party. On September 15 you can walk that often resistant but sometimes
permeable line where art and life meet as outbursts of rumba and
performative energy. Spend a sultry evening with Seabergs' Acrobatic
Poetry, the Chimera Vérité acrobats, snake charmer Torchy Taboo, Gin Gin
the Wild Woman, and dancers of Burlesque, Latin, and Afro influence. Let
the vibrations take over as the sounds surround you ? fall into the
rhythms of Middle Eastern drumming, Cuban jazz, tango and salsa. Stay
late for DJ Nemo spinning cerebral International sounds. And stop
dancing if you can to taste our unusually delicious edible delights,
drink our Sangria, and thrill to the other decadent surprises that will
weave through the crowd on a night like no other.

This big blast happens Saturday September 15, 9 p.m. to 3 a.m., at the
new Eyedrum: 290 Martin Luther King Jr. Dr., Suite 8 (right by the
Mattress Factory lofts at the corner of Hill Street). All Members
admitted absolutely free! ($15 for non-members.) Don't miss a beat:
download a handy membership form from the Eyedrum web site
(http://www.eyedrum.org/) or just stuff that check of yours in an
envelope addressed to 253 Trinity Avenue, Atlanta, GA 30303. Please
include your name, address, email, and telephone number.

Thank you for all of your help—past, present, and future. See you at our
party?
