Hi, Meegan. One page is perfect. The first paragraph should introduce the
position you're applying for, the second paragraph should highlight
applicable aspects of your resume, and the last paragraph should thank the
place for its consideration of you and list what materials you're including
with your cover letter (i.e., "I have included a resume and writing sample
for your review.")

Couple of random thoughts on this: someone once suggested to me to never
being with the word "I" because it puts the focus on you, as opposed to on
what you can do for the company. Also, don't send out a generic cover
letter--read the job description and really think about what
qualifications/experience you have that makes you a good candidate. Good
luck! Job searches are tough, so believe in yourself and stick it out!

I am currently finishing an internship in a few months and have started
sending out resumes myself. Does anyone have any advice for how long the
cover letter should be? I have always heard that it should not exceed a
page, but that was in a business class, any suggestions would be
appreciated.

Thank You!

Meegan Carr
