PROJECT REGISTRAR.
The Missouri Historical Society is hiring a Project Registrar for a
major exhibition on the Lewis and Clark expedition that will travel
nationally from 2003 to 2006.  The Project Registrar is responsible for
all administrative and management tasks associated with the artifacts
under consideration and being used in the exhibition including; loan
agreement negotiation, documentation, insurance, condition reporting,
packing, crating, shipping. The Project Registrar also oversees the
condition reporting and artifact handling during all installations and
de-installations of the exhibition. S/he will represent MHS in a
professional manner to all lenders and contractors associated with the
exhibition and will work with institutions and advisors across the
country. Preferred candidates will be organized, detail-oriented, and
eager to tackle a large, ambitious project. Candidates must have museum
registrarial and artifact-handling experience. Experience with traveling
exhibitions is strongly preferred. Computer skills and knowledge of
databases also essential. This is a temporary, multi-year, full-time
position. Salary is commensurate with experience. Excellent benefits.
