Deb,

If you're not already in contact with my colleague at the Naval Historical
Center's Operational Archives Dr. Gina Akers, you may want to give her a
call.  She's our specialist on women and minorities in the military, and her
dissertation focused specifically on women in the Navy.  She may have some
suggestions on sources for you.  Her contact info. is the same as mine
below.
