Marie Malaro is the former director of The George Washington University's
graduate program in Museum Studies. Before that she was an attorney for the
Smithsonian Institution. So I'd say that description on the back of the book
is right on. It's a great book for the legal and ethical issues you
encounter in museums large and small.

Hi. A Legal Primer on Managing Museum Collections by Marie C. Malaro is
excellent. Published in its second edition in 98. Not sure of the current
price. The author is "an attorney who has devoted most of her career to
advising and educating the museum community" (according to the back of the
book.

Best wishes,

Alice Stock
