Because of the need to track use of individual objects (accessioned or not,
you still need to be able to organize and retrieve them), I do recommend that
you label teaching collections.  Use the same kind of labels that you would
for accessioned objects, but change the format a little.  If you typically
write your catalog numbers one way (say 2001.1.1) for your accessioned
objects, change the order of the numbers (1.1.2001) or simply add a prefix
such as TC for the teaching collections.  Just be sure to document your choice
of labeling system so that there is no confusion by anyone at a later date.
