Hi Brooke,

I just wanted to comment on what you said about informational interviews
as a way to getting your resume out there. It's true that informational
interviews are a great way to get your resume out, but there might be a
catch to that. During a workshop about informational interviews I took,
the advice about resumes was that you should have copies of your resume
with you, but that you only give it to someone who specifically asks for
it (business cards are fair game, though). If you start by saying
"Here's my resume and I'm looking for a job" then that may change the
tone of the meeting - the person may think you're only there job-seeking
and not to truly find out about the field. Most people will realize that
the "getting contacts" part is there, but it's important that the person
you're interviewing knows that you truly do want to find out about what
they do. Just a side note to the process, I guess.

Take care,
