There have been many stories in the Chicago area news in the last couple of
months about mold closing schools. (There were 4 in the Chicago Tribune
within the last month.) At St. Charles East High School mold was found in
the walls and carpeting. Once these areas got wet it they became a major
cause of what folks with asthma and mold allergies see as a disaster (I have
recently been diagnosed with asthma so this has become even more important
for me.)

I am not discouraging the use of carpeting. I agree it is easier on the feet
and a godsend in the noise department, I'm just throwing one more thing in
the hopper for consideration. My mother is highly allergic and we have left
museums before ever making it to the front desk the problem was so bad.
