Hi Judy,

I think there was a Thelma Johnson who used to dance with Lester Horton
during that period.  If this is the same woman, she also taught the Horton
Technique (Alvin Ailey also studied under Horton).

I'll continue to search my brain and library if you have a bit of time.

Also, The Schomberg (sp)  Library in NYC and the Library of Congress here in
Washington, DC have great dance film footage.
