POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

Edward John Noble Foundation Development Intern

The Drawing Center announces a professional full-time internship in
development. This position has been funded since 1997 through a grant
from the Edward John Noble Foundation.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The intern works directly with a three-person
development team on a variety of fundraising activities, including (but
not limited to) membership, special events, annual fund mailings, gift
acknowledgment, foundation and corporate prospect research, and Board
communications. The development intern is also responsible for
maintaining the Center's database, generating donor history reports as
needed, and coordinating promotional mailings.

BACKGROUND: The Drawing Center is the only not-for-profit institution
in the country to focus solely on the exhibition of contemporary and
historic drawings. The Drawing Center was established in SoHo in 1977
to provide opportunities for emerging and under-recognized artists; to
demonstrate the significance and diversity of drawings throughout
history; and to stimulate public dialogue on issues of art and culture.
The Noble Foundation Development Internship is an excellent opportunity
for an individual interested in pursuing a career in museum management.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Bachelor's Degree is required, and a Master's Degree
in Arts Administration or other related subject is preferred. The ideal
candidate possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills,
is detail oriented, and has a minimum of one to two years'
administrative experience. A strong knowledge of basic Microsoft
applications including Word and Excel is essential.

The internship is available beginning in May 2001. Applications will be
considered until the position is filled. Salary is $28,000, with
benefits, for one year.

Kindly forward a cover letter, résumé and writing sample by mail or fax
(212.966.2976) to: Lisa Metcalf, Assistant Director, The Drawing Center,
35 Wooster Street, New York, NY 10013. No telephone inquiries please.

The Drawing Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
