I'll repeat some advice from a book dealers' list.

Get some new, UNscented cat litter. (Yes, cat litter) Get an airtight container (a large plastic cooler with tight lid works well). Fill the container to the top with the cat litter. Place rubber bands or string around the book or item to keep it from popping open, but don't wrap the book in paper or plastic. Bury the item in the cat litter. Wait one week. Be sure the container is in a heated room (I tried this once in the winter in an unheated barn and it didn't work). Remove item and dust off. This should remove most odor. You can repeat if necessary.

This works for mustiness. Glossy magazines might prove harder to treat. Moldy and mildewed items need treatment.

Anyone have tips or suggestions on how to remove musty odors from old
newspapers and magazines?

Thanks in advance
