Given fundamentalist religious thinking in any form, any where, it appears
that nothing can be done to save Bamiyan and other sites except to register
our outrage.  Given the current federal administration as well as the
suggestion to establish a "decency commission" in New York (of all places!),
we in the arts need to become visible and remain pro-active and supportive
of organizations that defend and uphold our constitutional and civil rights
that are being slowly chipped away.  It should be an interesting and busy
four years.
