Position Announcement

President/CEO
Capital Children's Museum
Washington DC

Capital Children's Museum seeks an accomplished leader whose understanding
of and passion for the unique mission of the museum are of primary interest.
The museum is in an exciting period of growth and redirection. The recent
strategic plan adopted by CCM's Board of Trustees is a bold one. It's a
plan that will require strong leadership and partnerships with local
cultural organizations, local government, regional schools and children's
museums across the country. New resources including a major capital
campaign will be required to accomplish the new plan, and the Board is
committed to support its new President in the process of securing needed
funding. The Board of Trustees of CCM is excited to move forward in planning
and building a new facility that will make the great resources of Washington
DC accessible to the millions of children who live in and visit the city.

The President/CEO must be ready to join with the Board and Staff in
achieving aggressive goals in fundraising, constituency building,
collaborative ventures and partnerships, and program development. The ideal
candidate must have a successful track record in raising money from
individuals, foundations and corporations and have the ability to develop
this expertise in senior staff. A background in business management in
either profit or nonprofit settings is required as well as evidence of
strong financial administration, budgeting and asset allocation skills.
