Janet Arnold's Pattern of Fashion is one of the best sources for
Englishwomen's dresses. I don't know if you are recreating a costume for a
certain locale, but her patterns are taken from extant garments. Butterick
and other commercial companies don't even come close. If you are not
experienced with a needle, contact the theater dept. at a local college -
they often have students willing to sew for money/extra credit/independent
projects. Good luck!

I am currently working on a late 18th century
costume, I got the pattern from Butterick.
McCalls also has patterns, and both should be
available at a local fabric store. Perhaps you
could find what you are looking for there.
