Hi Kevin,

In Singapore there are the Asian Civilisations Museum, the History Museum,
Singapore Art Museum and the Philatelic Museum. These are
government-supported museums and will give you a good idea how ‘far’ we are
here in showing people our heritage. The National Heritage Board has just
recently had their grand opening of the Heritage Conservation Centre and
could be a very interesting stop in your journey.
Of course we have our University Museums, here at the National University of
Singapore (indirectly government-supported ;) ).

I would have loved to invite you to come to our NUS Museums but January we
will be in the midst of our move to a new building. Do give me a call when
you are here and maybe I can show you a few things (behind the scenes).

There is a Paranakan ‘museum’ which shows you how the local people lived.
There is Pula Ubin, an island that hasn’t been developed much since
Singapore became independent and is a great place to cycle around.

Hope you’ll have a good trip and give me a call when you are here.

Kind regards,
Roeland Stulemeijer
