Using charcoal, rust and vegetable dyes, artists imprisoned in Nazi
concentration camps recorded the deaths and details of daily life
on scraps of paper, the backs of SS pamphlets and medical forms.
The Block Museum of A rt at Northwestern University, in Evanston,
Ill., has put many of these works online (lastexpression
