OVERALL DESCRIPTION OF JOB (USE PARAGRAPH FORMAT):

The project technician will have the responsibility for project inventory
tasks and generating a retrievable database of research resources.


MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES (USE BULLET FORMAT):
        Include how many people report to and are evaluated by incumbent,
scope of job, level, independent judgment vs routine work:

        *       Maintain frequent interactions with project personnel at the
University of Wisconsin-Madison and Michigan State University

        *       Produce uniform inventory and information structures.

        *       Generate a retrievable database of information from the
neuroanatomical collections.

        *       Computer image analysis.

        *       Make and document site visits.

        *       Organize collection materials.

        *       Assist visiting researchers.

        *       Provide written status reports and other necessary
documentation as requested.
MAJOR QUALIFICATIONS :

        Education Required:  BS degree

        Prior Experience Required:  Must have experience in collections
management.  Two years experience with medical databases and medical
terminology.  Familiarity with brain and spinal cord topography, knowledge
of all three anatomical planes, and general histology techniques are
required.

        Other Mandatory Requirements:  Knowledge of computer hardware
systems and software, such as Word Perfect 6.0, Microsoft Word, Paradox 1.0,
Microsoft Access 2.0, and Adobe Photoshop.  Strong written and communication
skills.
