I wonder if you couldn't get a couple of graduate students to work on
the script.  BU (Boston University), for instance, has a School of Fine
Arts as well as an American Studies Department.  Perhaps an MFA
candidate in theater and an Am. Studies (or History) grad student could
develop the script together.  Since BU also has a museum studies
certificate, the Am. Studies student might be able to get credit for
such a project.
