I agree with the last statement about this. Alot
of us students/thesis writers/ etc. on this list have
come up with topics on our own but use this list as a
way to supplement our research or bounce ideas off
people. And, as far asking for jobs...how else are
people just starting out supposed to make contacts?
Isn't that what something like this list is for? I am
someone who has done two great internships, completed
a good Masters program, have great contacts and am
still struggling to find a job. In a field that is so
competitive, I would think that we would all want to
help each other. We are all just using the resources
available. I have experienced a Masters program were
it takes weeks to get ahold of my advisor and even
longer to find any kind of career assistance. I am on
my own and look to this this llist for job postings
and advice. I look other places as well, but I just
don't understand that people forget how hard it was
struggling through grad school or their job hunt. I
would like to think that if I were in any kind of
position, I would help, rather than ridicule, a
student of the arts (of any kind) who sought my
advice. Anyway, my two cents. Amy
