        GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION:
        Responsible to the Complex Manager for the preservation, organizing,
planning and directing the overall operations of Eisenhower Birthplace State
Historical Park. Responsibilities include but not limited to: customer
service, education and interpretive programming, financial management,
resource management, maintenance of facilities and equipment, revenue
management, budget planning, site marketing, and volunteer development and
coordination.
        WORKING CONDITIONS:
        (1) Forty hour work week includes flexible schedule, hours other
than 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with days off other than Saturday, Sunday, and
holidays; (2) Subject to call for emergency situations; (3) Travel required
and including overnight stays; (4) Must conform to TPW dress and grooming
standards, work rules and safety standards; (5) Must participate and be
active in local civic organizations as they may relate to Eisenhower
Birthplace State Historical Park; (6) Must be able to work independently and
alone at times. State housing is not currently available.
        MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
        Education: (1) Graduation from an accredited college or university
with a Bachelors Degree including course work in Recreation and Parks,
Cultural Resource Management, Natural Resource Management, History or other
closely related fields; (2) Current TPW employees hired prior to January 1,
1998 may substitute up to two years of TPW experience in park, supervision,
and operations for the required education at the rate of one year experience
equals 30 semester hours, with a maximum substitution of two years for 60
semester hours from an accredited college or university.
        Experience: One (1) year experience in areas such as
Park/Museum/Historic Site operation, Natural or Cultural Resource Management
or related experience. Experience may have occurred concurrently.
        License: Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a valid
Texas driver's license within 30 days.
        SELECTION CRITERIA:
        Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: (1) Knowledge of the principles of
park administration; (2) Knowledge of the fundementals of cultural resource
and protection; (3) Knowledge of methods of interpretation and
marketing/promotions; (4) Knowledge of standard financial and business
management principles; (5) Knowledge of general human resources management
practices; (6) Knowledge of applicable state laws, codes, and regulations;
(7) Ability to use personal computer and associated software; (8) Ability to
manage to plan and organize special events and make public presentations and
tours; (9) Ability to manage multiple priorities; (10) Ability to make minor
repairs to facilities and utilities; (11) Ability to perform artifact
conservation and maintenance.
        Additional Requirements: Copy of official college transcript(s)
required with State of Texas application form.
