There is definitely a place for law in the
nonprofit/museums world. Those who are going the law
route and have an interest/studies/background in the
museums arena may wish to go into charity law (dealing
with the development side of the museums as opposed to
the curatorial side).

Certainly having the dual background would make one
more marketable. Encouraging folks to leave
charitable remainder trusts, endowments, and life
estates to ones institution can go a lot further to
preserving the art, history, and artifacts we all
appreciate so.

Those contemplating such a career path may want to get
on the charity law list at the Charity Channel. To
enroll, go to http://www.charitychannel.com/forums
List volume is low but meaty.
