The Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation opperates two living history museums:
Jamestown Settlement and Yorktown Victory Center.  For more information
about the Foundation, please visit our website at www.historyisfun.org.
Foundation staff conducts outreach programs  throughout the Commonwealth
of Virginia. The Outreach Education area currently has the following
opening:


MUSEUM PROGRAM SUPERVISOR, OUTREACH SERVICES-Position # 00154.  The
Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation is seeking an individual to supervise and
evaluate the development and implementation of all educational programs
and staff involved in presenting statewide outreach programs thoughout
the Commonwealth of Virginia.  TO QUALIFY:  Successful candidates will
possess considerable knowledge of objectives, curricula, operation of
school systems and other educationa institutions; teaching techniques;
education evaluation techniques and proceudres; and design and
implementation of historical educational programs and events.
Demonstrates aility to teach and effectively communicate information to
individuals or groups in oral and written forms; to supervise staff and
volunteers; to plan broad organizational goals and to use them in
conceptualizing new education programs; to develop and implement
educational programs including the preparation and use of publications
and exhibits; ability to supervise program development, field test, and
analyze responses on educational programs; develop and implement
training programs; and to work with all levels of professionals,
management, staff, general public, and volunteers.  Teaching experience
at a variety of levels and/or progressively responsible position in an
active museum eduction program required.  PREFERABLE: Graducation from
an accredited college/university with course work in history education,
museum studies or education.  Additional graduate work in education,
museum studies or history.  SALARY: $30,929-$33,066 WITH FULL STATE
