There is a good book on school programs that includes an a couple of
evaluation form ideas. The book is called "Partnerships with Schools" and
ordered through AASLH book list. I don't know of any generic form that can
be used in any situation. If you can do self-evaluations in conjunction
with school/visitor evaluations, you will find that helpful.
When schools come to visit give each teacher an evaluation form and
requests that they evaluate the tour and the guide, and to please turn them
in before they leave. (The forms need an area where the teacher can put
the name of the school). After you have collected enough of the evals on
each of your guides, sit down with them and go over with them the positives
and the negatives. Get their reaction to what could make their tours
better. This way you are not put in the position of being judgemental and
getting them to look at their tour techniques objectively. This is just
one suggestion. I don't know of any easy way to do evaluations.
