"I think selling these objects promotes unethical collecting."   - - -   What is unethical collecting?  I'm sure collectors wouldn't agree with you.  My personal ethics are anti-sales of artifacts from archeological sites because that collecting (theoretically) promotes the uncontrolled excavation of sites, but I'm not so naive as to think it doesn't go on all the time.  And I find it hard to believe that "collecting" is the problem per se.  If you are offended by this fellow selling rocks and jewels, I hope you don't ever get a look at the Butterfield&Butterfield or Sotheby's catalogs for historic Americana or ethnological items - you'll stroke right out on us.
