Dear Ethics questioner:
How quick can you say no! As a board member he or she has fiscal
responsibility for the organization. They should donate their time or resign
from the board and then work as a paid consultant. As a board member they
have hiring and firing power over your chief executive and there fore can
influence staff decisions. This could lead to major problems. Don't do it.
I have had bad experiences with this.
