Position Title: Curator
Category of position: Government/Contract

Location: Fort Hood, Texas
Salary range and benefits: $35-38,000 depending on experience plus benefits
of contracting company
Position is pending funding but will be 1 year terms renewable based on
performance.
Minimum Education Requirements: Prefer Masters or Post-graduate certificate
in Museum studies.
Minimum Skill and Experience Requirements: Prefer four (4) years museum
experience with increasing responsibility for special projects. Must have
experience in curation techniques for archaeological material and associated
documentation. Must have experience with electronic catalogues and new
museum related technology. Experience in developing exhibits, and an
interest in the latest techniques and equipment. Prefer ability to develop
interactive exhibits and develop long-term plans. Experience with Federal
curation regulations i.e., 36 CFR Part 79 and as such, able to improve
facilities compliance with these regulations.
Duties/Responsibilities: Complete repacking and inventory existing
collections, Organize curation facility so materials are easily accessible
and identifiable, Develop exhibit plans, Assist with development of public
education projects, Complete electronic inventory, Develop electronic
documentation archiving system. Writing abilities to produce reports,
operating procedures, and curation facilities policies.
