****** Agreed, and might I add, DON'T allow staff to have door wedges or
hooks to prop door(s) open. Make it clear that this is NOT permitted and
warn staff that formal discipline could result. People will argue that the
storage room is too hot, or that they just want to move a few artifacts in
or out, that they can get the truck closer to this door etc. If you can,
budget for air conditioning or climate control to remove the "its too hot
excuse". Also, place a sign on the door telling your rules of its use, but
monitor it as staff tend to ignore such signs (including Fire Marshall
warnings on fire doors) unless they are enforced.

******** Question for Charles Gruchy then: Would you suggest that there be a
timer that automatically shuts the door alarm off after a certain time -
with the timer being set for long enough to annoy and alert all those in the
area?
***** The evening burglar alarm could also be engaged on this and any other
doors to cover the times when no staff are around. "If a tree falls in the
forest and no-one is there to hear it, does it make a noise?".
> I would urge you to check with the local fire authorities on the need for
a second exit from the room - I think you will find that one is required.
****** Excellent suggestion. I am all for good security, but it could be me,
or you, trapped in the room during a fire.
