The City of Philadelphia, PA hosts a "Parkway Night Out" every year
on the Wednesday evening preceding July 4th.  Parkway institutions
from the Art Museum to the Academy of Natural Sciences (with the
Rodin Museum, Please Touch Museum, Franklin Institute, Moore
College of Art, Main Branch of the Free Library in between) are open
to the public for free.  In addition the Ben Franklin Parkway is closed
to traffic and filled with food vendors, performance stages, participatory
activities and PEOPLE.  The evening culminates in a huge fireworks
display (weather permitting--it didn't this year) in front of the Art Museum.
