For those of you who might know of someone that this position would

Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art
Utah State University

The Museum: The Nora Eccles Harrison Museum of Art, a unit of Utah State

University is an accredited member of the American Association of
Museums. The Museum is housed in a building designed by Edward Larabee
Barnes, and ideally located near the University's Department of Art, a
performing arts facility with a major concert hall and theater, public
spaces, and additional exhibition areas. Plans are underway for a major
expansion of the Museum facilities.

Responsibilities: The director will serve as Curator and will have
responsibility for: collections and acquisitions, exhibitions and
educational programs, staff supervision, Museum administration, the
Museum Advisory Board, writing grant proposals, administering the
Museum's annual budget, and fund raising. The Director reports to the
Dean of the College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences.

Qualifications: An advanced degree in art, art history, museum studies,
and/or a related field is required; a Ph.D. is preferred. Significant
curatorial and museum management experience. Demonstrated fund-raising,
donor relationship, and management skills. Effective oral, written, and
interpersonal skills.

Rank and Salary: Salary and terms of appointment are negotiable,
depending on individual qualifications and experience. Utah State
University offers a generous benefits package.

Closing Date: Review of applications will begin 15 May 2000 and position

will remain open until filled.
