According to the information gleaned in the grants
course I took at UCLA last fall, most funders do not
fund salaries. Generally speaking, they only fund for
relatively short periods of time, and they are
concerned about being seen as the bad guy when the
culmination of their funding period ends and the
entity doesn't have another funder to carry the
salary.
In the public's eye, the foundation or grantor appears
the bad guy.
Better to establish your donor base and more people
through the pyramid of giving.
