Hello from a humid but a GOOD AFTERNOON for me in Tokyo !
As many of you know, especially those Fender fanatics out there on the web,
the famous electric guitar manufacturer established the Fender Museum of
Music and Arts (http://www.fendermuseum.com/ in 1998 in Corona, California,
U.S.A.
Yours Truly wishes to go on a pilgrimage to this holy place some day
together with other super places in the US such as the new Music Experience
(Seattle) and the RR Hall of Fame (Cleveland) in the future with his band.
Well, on the other side of the Pacific, a small museum of the Tugaru-
jamisen opened on May 23, 2000 at its origin "Kanagi-cho" in Aomori
Prefecture in Japan. Tugaru-jamsen is known for its tough but melancholic
tunes blended by the severe winters of that north part of Japan. The late
TAKAHASHI Chikuzan, the famous blind player had made many performances in
Europe and North America. The three string instruments which were once
belonged to legendary players are on display. String instruments from other
parts of the world are also on display, so the visitor can make a
comparison of 'noises' by fingering the strings.
Address: Tugaru-jamisen Museum 195-2 Asahiyama, Kanagi-cho, Aomori
Prefecture, Japan. Telefon: +81 173 54 1616 or 1155.
No website is available at the moment. Yours truly hopes that somebody will
produce a MP3 file of the tunes and distribute them on the web eventually.
Stay 'tuned' to the Museum-L for super information !
