Job Duties: The BAM/PFA website (www.bampfa.berkeley.edu) has one of
the most innovative and acclaimed museum websites, providing visitor
interaction, searchable research resources, and multi-museum
collaborations. As webmaster, serve as a member of a 4-person digital
media team. Maintain and publish the BAM/PFA website and train and
supervise a team of volunteers to assist with website maintenance.
Implement HTML and web interfaces to multimedia and database
resources, working closely with team members. Install and configure
off-the-shelf e-commerce solutions. Assist with data conversion and
encoding projects. Support the use of digital media in the galleries,
the film theater, kiosks, and exhibitions.
Required qualifications: Expert knowledge of HTML, web interfaces,
and UNIX Shell. Working knowledge of at least two of the following:
FileMaker Pro/CDML, MAC OS, image scanning, XML; working knowledge of
at least one of the following: Perl, Javascript, Applescript, Word
macros. Ability to organize workflow for self and volunteers, work
independently, and maintain a deadline-driven production schedule.
Effective interpersonal skills for training, for supporting volunteer
efforts, and for collaborating with the staff.
