To enlighten our just graduateds or just about to be
graduateds, this issue of requiring experience to get
a job is not unique to the museums field. There are
all too many professions that require experience in
order to get hired.

It's the old conundrum: You can't get a job without
experience, you can't get experience without a job.
It's a tough nut to crack.

Often, the only real nutcracker is to take a job that
is "beneath you" in order to get your foot in the
door. You may have to do something that is not equal
to the skills you have already acquired in order to
access the key that opens the doors to the potential
job of your dreams.

Sad, but true.
