There are museums related to the 'oil industry' which may have some
information you are looking for... possibly about the gas industry,
environmental issues.  These would for the most part be historical items and
be related to the drilling and production end of the businesses.  I would
start with the Permian Basin Petroleum Museum.  I am not sure how to find
it, maybe look on the internet.  They are geographically located between
Midland and Odessa, Texas.
