I was flustered once at a job interview when I was asked, "How do you define
a museum?" It seemed like such a basic question, but I stammered and said
basically said nothing three different ways. It did, however, make me
reflect on my career choice and define for myself what I want to do and why
I want to do it. I would suggest that at an interview, know as specifically
as you can what the job is you are interviewing for, and know that it's the
job you want, and know why you want it. That kind of preparedness, passion
and commitment will speak volumes on your behalf to your interviewers.

By the way, I found out a short time after my interview (for which I did not
get the job), that "museum" as defined by Neil Postman had recently been
quoted by the CEO of the very museum I had applied to. "Postman defines a
museum as an answer to the fundamental question--What does it mean to be a
human being?" I've done some reflection on this definition, and it works
for me.

I won't get caught for an answer to that question again!
