Karen Kirsteter, the information that you are looking for depends on the Native People meaning to whom are they interpreting their objects to their own people or to the general public?  Are they being careful of what they are interpreting?  Are they exhibiting anything about their religious practices?  (most likely not but this is an important question)  At other museums who is interpreting the objects the collections manager, curator, art historian, anthorpologist, or an archeologist?  In most cases this person is usually not Native but a non-Native "expert" on Native American culture.    These are important questions that your friend needs to address.
