Near Philadelphia, in Newark, Delaware, is the University of Delaware.
There you can pursue an MA in history (or art history) and combine it with
a certificate in Museum Studies. Also, affiliated with UDel is the
Winterthur Program in Early American Culture -- with studies focusing on
material culture and decorative arts. Ten Fellows are accepted each year
to the Winterthur Program -- each Fellow's tuition is paid for and s/he
receives a yearly stipend. Many of the courses are conducted in the
Winterthur Museum and are taught by curators there.
