I use digest form for Museum-L, so forgive me if I'm a bit behind.

To further complicate the issue, where does the Ph.D. fit into the
hiring scheme for museums in general or for your particular institution?
Is a Ph.D. more or less useful than a master's in museum studies, all
else being equal (including amount of museum experience)?
