I am conducting thesis research and am seeking information on museums
and
galleries that have had exhibitions specifically on forgeries in the
time periods of
1890-1920 and 1970-2000.

I have already located a number of museums through the listing in the
Minneapolis Institute of Arts' 1973 exhibit catalog, as well as others
from the book, "Fake? The Art of Deception", edited by Mark Jones, 1990,
but would like to locate others, particularly from the earlier part of
the 20th century. They may be both national and international exhibits.

If you know of such events, I'd love to hear about them- please let me
know the name of the
museum/gallery, approximate date, and generalized content if possible.
This research excludes coins and stamps.

thank you!

Cheryl Maslin
